Monthly Workshops: Creating a Risk Map for the Community
As part of Caminos de Acción’s (CdA) and el Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad’s (CIS) scholarship program, scholarship recipients from Tehuiste Arriba and Tehuiste Abajo worked to create a risk map for the community in the month of July.
The goal of the creation of this risk map was to address issues or situations of risk that could greatly impact the community and develop a plan of action to prevent harm or damages.
Additional potential beneficiary families for the Pilas project
During the month of July, Caminos de Accion and the Association of Community Law (ADESCO in Spanish) of Tehuiste Arriba and Tehuiste Abajo had a meeting to receive 20 more applications from families from the local community to be part of the extension of the pilas project.
Trash Collection Campaign
On May 28th, the communities of Tehuiste Arriba and Tehuiste Abajo successfully carried out a trash collection campaign. The campaign involved and was organized by members of the local health center, students from local schools, and Caminos de Accion scholarship recipients
Delivery of pilas to more than 40 families in Tehuiste
On May 24th, over 40 families in the communities of Tehuiste Arriba and Tehuiste Abajo were happy to receive a new “pila” at their front doors. The pilas, made of cement, are used for storing water, washing clothes, and various additional proposes around the house. They will provide a vital resource to community residents.
