Community Embraces the First Organic Agriculture Workshop
During the month of May, the organic agriculture project in Los Tehuistes has begun with a very enthusiastic group of attendees from the community. In the first session on May 5th, Kriscia D. Garcia Martínez, a recently graduated agricultural engineer in charge of teaching the workshops, exposed the multiply benefits of organic agriculture.
Awareness Parade to Prevent Mosquito-Borne Diseases
CdA Scholarship Program students organized their teachers and fellow classmates to participate in an Awareness Parade to motivate their community members to take the necessary measures to rid Los Tehuistes of dengue, chikungunya, and zika, all mosquito-borne diseases.
Monthly Workshops: What do I want to do on the future and how to achieve it?
As part of the monthly workshops, scholarship recipients from the program from Caminos de Accion’s (CdA) and el Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad’s (CIS) had a session of discussion about how to set their goals for the future and how to achieve those goals.
Chairs for the Community
Last month, Caminos de Acción (CdA) was part of a community effort realized by Tehuiste Arriba and Tehuiste Abajo to purchase over 20 chairs for their community meetings, especially during Water Committee meetings.
