How It Works

WHO

YOU! Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to take part in the challenge (from a safe distance) or donate to your fundraiser.

WHAT

  • Once a week (or more!) for 6 weeks exercise for 45 minutes (or more!) however/whenever with whomever.

  • Participate in extra Weekly Fitness Challenges for awesome door prizes. Scroll down to the schedule below to see what they are!

  • Post a selfie via Scrapbook and social media with our #StepUp4CdA hashtag after you finish your 45-minute workouts or the Weekly Fitness Challenge! Tell us what exercise you did, where (and with whom)! This will enter you into the Weekly Door Prize Drawings.

#StepUp4CdA takes place where you are---your home, your neighborhood

WHEN

REGISTRATION from September 6th - 19th

CHALLENGE from September 20th - October 31st, 2020

HALLOWEEN 5K 8am CST on Saturday, October 31st

  • Join our community for a culminating, virtual yet synchronous Halloween 5K. Dress up, run or walk your 5K, check your time, and post a selfie via Scrapbook and/or social media with our #StepUp4CdA hashtag. Let's get fit, have fun & give back together!

About Registration

• $25 Registration Fee

• First 150 participants receive a fitness headband & CdA laptop/water bottle sticker!

• Your registration fee will apply toward your fundraising goal.

• The minimum individual fundraising/donation amount is set to a suggested $175 but there is no limit on the amount you can raise and/or donate!

• For the first $10,000 raised, your donation will be matched 1:1!

  • Virtual + In-Person exercise class options for you to get in your weekly minutes!

  • The Week's Fitness Challenge

  • Door Prize Drawing Challenges & Winners

Fitness Tracking Note

Activities can be tracked via Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Misfit, Android wearables, Charity Footprints or Strava iOS/Android mobile applications, or can be manually entered through the campaign website. Your goal is still to log a minimum of 45-minutes/exercise/week, but note that any fitness activity will be recorded by linked devices as miles. 

For wellness activities that cannot be measured in miles, please refer to the mileage conversion chart below. Don’t see your favorite activity? Simply use the activities listed as a guide (we trust you to use your discretion!)

Time spent equals 1 mile.

For example, if you go to Zumba (dancing) for a 60-minute class…

60 minutes / 15 minutes = 4 miles

Manually log 4 miles for 60 minutes of Zumba.
